Communication with your doctor

At Healing Tides Primary Care, we have made it easy to connect with your doctor and we wish to establish a clear policy regarding patient-physician communication.

Please understand that your doctor will not be available during times she is seeing other patients or after hours. If you call after hours, you may leave a message, but calling during business hours is preferred. Phone calls without a message will not be responded to. You will receive a response to phone calls and Elation Passport messages within two business days.

Phone calls: Anytime you are given medical advice, a prescription for a medication or a referral over the phone by your doctor, the insurance company requires that we document this interaction. We make this documentation by creating a telephone visit and submitting it to your insurance company. If your insurance carrier does not cover this service, you may be billed $5-$20. If your plan does not cover telephone visits, then you may wish to schedule a video visit or in person visit for your questions.

Elation Passport: You can access your doctor via your Elation Passport *. Messages sent via Elation Passport will be reviewed within 2 business days. If medical advice, a prescription, refills for certain medications, or a referral is given via Elation Passport patient portal, it may be billed as a patient portal encounter. If your insurance carrier does not cover this service, you will be billed $5-$20.
Text messages: Office number for texting is 808-294-1905 and is available during business hours.
If you are needing medical care after hours, please go to your nearest Urgent Care or Emergency Room. Or call 911 if necessary.

Telephone hours: Monday - Friday 9am-12:30pm, 1:30pm-5pm, Saturday 9am-1pm
*Elation Passport is the online account that allows you to access your medical records or email your doctor
